Set amidst amazing scenery and within easy reach of numerous attractions this holiday home really is a little gem. If you are a romantic at heart and looking for a special hideaway or likewise a family looking for a fun packed holiday this retreat really is for you. The house itself is full of Austrian charm and character and you are sure to feel at home here with all the comforts you require. The house has a traditional kacheloffen (tiled wood burning stove) in the kitchen/dining room and a small kamin (wood burner) in the lounge upstairs so you can really cosy-up on a snowy winter night. The cottage also benefits from a pellet central heating system.There is 1 large double bedroom, a small double bedroom and a single room with bunk beds for the children. There is a WC upstairs with toilet and wash basin and another downstairs with toilet, washbasin and shower. There is also a covered double carport and a lovely garden to enjoy. The house is only 3 km from Annaberg and 6 km from the village of Abtenau which is very picturesque and boasts not only an outdoor family swimming complex, a cable car with summer toboggan ride but also has numerous restaurants and a few shops to browse around. There are a couple of large supermarkets in Abtenau for all your groceries and provisions. The village of Russbach (entrance to Dachstein West Ski Region) is only a 10 minute drive away and also has a swimming complex and cable car to whisk you to dizzy heights. During the winter this is a great family skiing resort and the summer draws keen ramblers and mountain walkers. If you prefer lakes then you must visit Gosausee which is a short drive away and also Hallstattersee. Hallstatt, is the oldest still inhabited village in Europe, owing its longevity to the local deposits of salt. The salt mine is worth a visit or you can meander through the cobbled streets and enjoy a drink overlooking the lake. The beautiful Baroque city of Salzburg is a mere 35 minute drive from the house. There are so many things to see and do in the Salzburgerland and Salzkammergut regions of Austria it would be impossible to list them all but apart from sightseeing here are a few more ideas for those who like to be active:- Ballooning, Biking, Fishing, Hiking, Mountaineering, Skiing, swimming and horse riding... |
